Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

The Coronado Springs Resort is the newest Moderate and is the only one in this category which has convention facilities.

Due to this the clientele tends to be weighted more towards the adult side of the age spectrum and the atmosphere a little more laid back. You don’t really feel like you are at Disney when staying here.

Business class rooms with a club lounge and other upgrades are offered at the Coronado.

The theme at the Coronado is Southwestern, with three different themed groups of buildings. Casitas is modeled after a Southwestern urban area, Rancheros, which are themed on Southwest cattle ranches, and Cabanas, which represent Mexican coastal villages.

In 2017 Disney World began construction of a new 15-story tower adjacent to the resort’s main building that will add 500 rooms, including suites and concierge-level services. Additionally, the resort will be transforming its landscape with floating gardens and an island housing a restaurant that connects the resort through a series of bridges as well.

The new tower will also feature rooftop dining with panoramic views of nighttime fireworks from Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Expect this section of Coronado Springs to be priced at the Deluxe level when it opens. Construction of the tower should continue through 2019.
