The Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is one of the few locations that serves alcohol in the Magic Kingdom and is one of the best options based on selection and availability!
Only table service restaurants in the Magic Kingdom serve alcohol. This is becomes problematic if you decide on the spur of the moment that you’d like to have a beer or glass of wine.
Most of the table service restaurants have long waits for walk-ins and require advance reservations to avoid long waits. At a couple of the restaurants all reservations are taken up to 60 days in advance!
But Skipper’s seems to be the least reserved of the lot, probably due to its more “adventurous” menu that some may shy away from. This makes Skipper’s easier to get a short notice reservation or a short wait for a walk-in seating.
From opening through early lunch you can walk right in without a reservation and cast members also report a lull from around 4 – 5 pm. We were told that people often visit just here just for beers and drinks.
Atmosphere
There are 3 themed rooms that you could be seated in:
- The crew’s colonial-era Mess Hall
- The Jungle Room, former family parlor of Dr. Albert Falls himself
- The S.E.A. Room, a once-secret meeting place for the Society of Explorers and Adventurers!
The Menu
Unlike other Magic Kingdom table service locations, Skippers has a nice, varied selection of beers and a very good sized wine selection. No mixed drinks here though.

The Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is one of the three locations on Disney World property where you can find Kungaloosh Spiced Excursion Ale (a throwback to Pleasure Island’s Adventurer Club). The others being: The Nomad Lounge (including the attached Tiffins) & The Thirsty River Bar.
